“ I was born for this”, she angles, her hair tangling with reflections of street lights and white shadows, the background that finds us pooled in our ghostly night hour. “Born for your masquerade”
She molds her expression same to mine, settling her thoughts into my chest. "I can hear your struggles. I can feel your taste inside a stone, I can even bear the sound rolling back as if to declare your love for me without a single word."
I beg for sleep and kneel my lips down beside her, carrying her back into my life.
Sometimes the sea ..sometimes a broken bulb.
My mind climbs inside a long term insomnia and takes awareness of the length I will pay without her, without her voice, without the fragrance, the stamina or days she gives away freely.
She turns her back, slow and deliberate and presses into me, whispering, “ You know I do, you know I do, you know…”
Wow, what a write, lying is wrong, but sometimes it is used to build other's up I know it is still lying. Lying is wrong, but who really knows in today's world. I enjoyed this, makes me ponder a little more.

Course it also has a Jungian archetype dimension meant beneath but again thanks and I agree." who really knows" I think we all do. Thank you so much for the kind review.
Such a wonderful, lovely write...
sometimes an honest lie, is the way to go, lying is lying
but if you're building someone up I guess it is okay.
Awesome write

I just read "Introvert" and I can see why you've won awards. I look forward to reading more of your poetry and hopefully posting more as the fire again returns to the fuel. A poet must only allow themselves so long before again returning to their madness..lol. Keep smiling~
I fell in love with your title right off. We all lie, let's face it. And most lies are well-meaning. You paint a vivid swirl of sensation in your psychic tussle between these two characters. The way some people mold themselves to you, it can seem tempting, but it also comes with restrictions, so there's this push-and-pull sensation going on here (((HUGS)))

I had heard rumors that you had returned. Welcome back and thanks for the review Margie..loved it as always!
sometimes honest lies are the best ones...we mean it even if we don't....
I think of Robert Creeley reading this one...
his love poems, his conversations within his writes.
"kneel my lips down beside her"
damn, I wish I had written that line.
you know I do, you know I do, you know I do.

I was pondering old Man Rumi and how life is with most humans and whatever or wherever they may roam in general. I was then considering the poetry of Rumi and considering "life" and how we hold on to these layers in deciding to believe in. whether lies rather lies of truth and how we hold on to the pursuit of these painful truths that steer us back into that famous "dusty death".We know this is the price...Death of illusion, death of personae, death of a favored companion..it is perception and expectation. How desperately we will lie in order to believe in our inevitable truths..but then you already knew that didn't you?
What extraordinary lies you must have led all these years...Where have you been exactly GWQ? Good to d :)

And Mr.E. E. Cummings ladies and rest?
women lie to protect their love, men lie thinking it's OK creating a safe-zone. when we are really weak and in-love even when inside we know the truth, we will hang on to those lies or whatever... because it's less painful than dealing with loss, but sooner or later we will face that. memories can haunt for a long time, let them be an inspiration rather than just pain.

what can I say? it seems I always had mind issues when it comes to understanding people.
