well we are not going gentle into that good night.
the last passage read as the light is extinguished...
the last sound and the silence converge...
like for poor Hamlet.
another really good one, Perdition.

Thanks, J. How much poetry is influenced by loss and gain. The major theme of this world, or so it seems. Hamlet and Mr.Dylan T. sharing in this common thread of early loss and fathers or mothers or Ophelia..but really a loss of any sort including the loss of our own, Life, light, etc...which seems to be the familiar case in this world. Always fun as hell to listen to Dylan's interviews though as he commented and claimed to know nothing or very little about poetry, writing for his dying father in this case, and what he, like Hamlet struggled with, and what we all must endure, should we live long enough. Thank you, J. always a pleasure to hear the teacher's input..seriously!!
So beautifully rendered, poised with elegance and depth - this is deeply moving Perdition, some essence of light stay lit long after the tides take away the brightness...lovely piece, stay well :)

I feel the energy slipping away here of something or even someone who burned so brightly. A release, a goodbye. They are never easy.

The addressee is unnamed, but the speaker comes across as one who is conducting a last meeting with someone valued before his execution. I detect some regret but no remorse. It is the voice of one who views life as a struggle and who has done what he thought he must.
