The Way

The Way

A Poem by Perdition

And now I know that I should die

for I have borne the continuum amorphous

the query that settles as the dagger into darkness

or swiftly into the soft side of the soul

opening where light has never known

for the owning of such passage belongs to its own affliction

Obliged, stilled with riddles through the wind and

stories that have settled beneath the shell

So is this farewell upon my branch

that flames through every state

what comes to bury is understanding

it is the maze dissecting the rat

settling in psychosis

wandering from row to row

till again, nothing understands as before

and eventual, as death shall come

the walls will be taken back with me

back to write no journey beyond their own

where we are backdrops mimesis

And there she smiles and I the sea from all its silence

the life that breathes into a flask run full

dispelled into the shell again

as love that remembers the day

that bore new language unto this known

They say that passing away is more easier than birth, I believe it's true, and that at your final moments You will understand everything, but in my opinion the case is not necessarily always like that, maybe more of a conclusion rather than a final aha moment. of course I will take my poetry through the way up with me, walk heavens again and hopefully I won't down earth once more lol who knows?!

This poem reminds me of someone who drowns their self in the bottom of a whiskey bottle and not only comes close to death but love departs as well not able to deal with the drinking.

I could be well off the mark but many of the lines makes me think of this.

I like the phrase 'the life that breaths into a flak runs fall, a philosophical poem full of divine imagery.nearing death and a look back into life. It reminded me of shri Aurobindo 's poetry..

Thank you and wishing you the same!
Philosophically stunning, visually inviting, metaphorically mind blowing, written in a manner that rendered me silent in awe! This is breathtaking Perdition, truly so...I feel life's weight reading this yet an eternal answer that perhaps all is as it is/was intended to be...maybe I am rambling but it is an amazing piece of writing :)

AAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I do not know what your poem is saying but I love some of your phrasing: "the owning of such passage belongs to its own affliction" . . . sometimes I feel so afflicted, it's as confusing to look inside myself as it is to try to understand this poem. It's all become too bent & crunched up to decipher anymore. Sometimes when it looks this obtuse I want to leave this muddled scene, but other times I am content to exist sans meaning, which can feel as satisfying as finding some illusive or delusional meaning (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

I love this explanation. I might adopt this approach a little bit sometimes!
those familiar roads of introspection have very worn paths blazed from the many that came before us every once in a while a new path can be found that lead to a different clearing, perhaps for a new home or yet another seeking... but the affliction is all encompassing my dear Perdition! my feet are tired yet i still can't seem to stop really enjoyed the voice in this one
