One LifeA Poem by PerditionI glimpse the ship with one life listing transcendent; reflective setting course on the water’s end oblation locking onto a feverish line that life I did not know, How it tangles the sails in drafts of laughter The wind a summer’s sudden sword.. The saber is the morning counter The train's final call over dawn and port In my wish your ringlets are spun in this illusion they blush, as words lift into overture,
so soft as death’s lowest ember trembles in midair No end, no burden or sunset. expecting good seasons to fly we glimpse the feather that falls to earth, twirling in circlets entwined Alive, our course repeats this fever, Ignites the curse to grow limbs, grow teeth and lose to the burden of the flashing aperture One day a name must rise over our horizon like a Klieg lamp through the concert of our minds, and we will crawl, pushing all tears away. Words align as pearls in the oyster's wish An infliction over the surface we delight, You infuse your lips against a rusting heaven, I suffer it a man compelled, slipping through a bottle into your glass But we confuse the night's ministry into black ash, Magi into flight, bodies melting into darkness then, with a single nudge, relentlessly we burn on the lip of our tongues. © 2019 PerditionAuthor's Note
