Promising An Old Friend

Promising An Old Friend

A Poem by Perdition

I thought I might try

I thought today

I would wake

pour the morning's death from my buried head

the moss from its faithful tongue and cup

stirring the warm nest gently

staring away from my thoughts

gazing through the odd wooden frames

as I’ve heard that others try

letting autumn fill their void

I thought it might be fine

but it's madness that holds the passers by

and I,  I am winged affliction for the breeze

like the rain severed sun it grows a branch wherever it may

the old ones falling to a fate locked deep in trust

I thought perhaps,

perhaps this day I could stop for just one minute

perhaps for even two

but my hands began their curl

and the room,  filled in silence,  stood in tapping

As down to my cellar I raced

locked in a fate of darkness of my own

promising my words to an old friend-

alone in my own tomorrow.

I do relate to this one a little too much..sometimes, we're but wrapped around our darkness groping for a way out, not realizing that we're just born with punctured holes within our souls...
Nice metaphors here. I enjoyed reading this.

Today.....it's only bout today, no?
Sometimes a mixture of restlessness, depression and loneliness starts to abide with us for a long time....it changes hope into despair and makes days feel long like years....I hope you can make your promise, true one for sure!
Almighty’s grace be upon you, ameen :)

desperation can kill, yes, can kill the spirit, the hope, the senses, even the feelings, though, Your poem brings hope, so the photo, and it's aware, what matters that You be aware to Your situation, maybe it's more depression than desperation, some real sentences speaking of deep loneliness and isolation, in the mind particularly. I say today my friend, maybe tomorrow will bring another maybe tomorrow...

maybe this is why Im such a cranky pants this morning! The changing of the season is happening way too fast. My promises went from I'm gonna...to my hands curling and feet twisting...my thoughts happening off to I dont even know if itll happen tomorrow...winter is running amuck with my sensory scape.
