Seconds MoreA Poem by PerditionShe decorates her words While a river empties over our flamenco morning The cereal poured is disguised as conversation Spoons are fashioned by the concave And I want to tell her anything I want her to take a moment and understand How beautiful she really is But I am invisible Like the whiskey slipping inside her throat And the shower running around her mind Graces me a silhouette for seconds more before She rushes off and I carry it inside me like lost songs and keys Planting it under faces juxtaposed with need Praying that life will somehow grow © 2017 PerditionReviews
