Emotional Skinflint

Emotional Skinflint

A Poem by Perdition

Skinflint lover

With your pale embrace

Talking swarthy

Your touch is still a sun bird

Your currency

A wire of faith

Its radius all too thin

Thin as the life beneath you-

Like a child’s hand

I still reach into the

Distance,

Endless and weak

Where life awaits,

Even if in finality

When you ask

Or the world directs

And offers up a light-

Be it abused,

Winged,

Bled or split,

Know that

The tattered sky

Old and wed,

Where all prayers die,

And where morning reaches back to suit you,

Hears all of life

Know that Death abandons your name

Burying slowly its past
While fondling the embers of your scars
