It All Takes TimeA Poem by PerditionIt all takes time Maria There are often sweet complications Iguanas in The shape of thorn palmetto She bargains and strains in a Sloth of sunlight, Photographs the Doorway Hinged in mental staccato Moonlight swimming warm The silver atheist troubadour Love making love on a heart of diamonds Sweat sweating ruby serpents into eve It all
takes time Maria Stripping cups
of acid cane Keeping
watch over everything Stirring truth in from the lazy straw veranda We'll sing in Cuban balladeer Hands
clapping and My guitar will never be so bold And I will tell you everything Everything
is what you deserve Well… I dream in older Ezekiel image and I often take my
time Lying in the cold prophetic basement Keeping
my attentions on the scores of mice And the hands
that I’ve refused run ragged wars through all my wicked pages No sense
in changing my mind No sense in rushing my love It all takes
time Maria It takes
everything Morning
comes Slender
as Houdini’s ghost Immunity crawls and It’s all
a fresh pulled tooth Every color runs We share our black and white destiny A bus
scream while The commonwealth
screams back It takes angelology
and a plastic gun But we do
come to terms You see Becoming
fine wine Maria It all
takes time © 2017 PerditionReviews
