Existential Prayers

Existential Prayers

A Poem by Perdition

Know what it does

Take the time

Leave your marks

But know the intent

I’ve seen what it does

I know where it takes you

It’s always simple

Malevolent

But everything is made from it

Shut

Close the mind for a moment

Let the baby blues wander

Walk in rain like some fatuous soak crazed twine revelation

And know what it does

Only a fool gets drunk from another

So when that sound of drowning eardrums wakes you

Rip them out

When the good stain of cold glass warms you

Be kind and generous

But f*****g know what it does

This time alone

Standing...use it

Stoned or pinned to an angel

A nail of God

Rammed into the spine

Specimen of cradle

Face filled hands

Know you were meant to be free

Meant to be judged

Meant to remember

Who denied who

First
