Rein of Street Reflections

Rein of Street Reflections

A Poem by Perdition

Rein of Street Reflections

Is it enough?
To be cinched in earth,
Shotgun praised dilations into the clouds toward timid gods
Walk stalked intruders of miracle
On the mountains of India

Is it enough?
Watching pendulums swing over
Her cheekbones
Slipping verdigris
Where angels cry never into her fall

Last teardrops Alexander
A whole country lies weeping
Vexed

I wonder

Where there is pathos
Clean cigarettes to blow into grace
Head cocked
The ripples of her laugh still
Wrestling through my toes

Remembering the reasons we ever began

I too am terrified
Appraised
Equal as unequaled

I ask
If it is enough?

Her stirring morning with a smile
I watch it all so carefully
The beads that dapple her skin shadowed from shadow
Into raindrop
A coffee and blanket shower

Where just across,
In a house called cancer
Another dilation occurs

A saturation of Saturday and soul

Today his wife dies
And there is nothing
Nothing I can do.
