Before the Sun RisesA Poem by PerditionBefore the sun rises Before our flatfooted babe begins to emulate Formulate warm heaven and fail Breach from me a tear and terror I hear them all. Alone, in our sleepy kitchen veil. I smoke, holding on where the ancient clan assembles. Wandering through absence land, a stage forgotten but for few. Does anyone know the madness of death well earned? A fence cold in mending and shell cases flowering in the green summer grasses of America? I wonder? Each moment, running from past and here this child thrown from heaven- Is she not the very thing of suffering? Before the sun emerges I will awake to find a language, A fountain I have created, Gathering the mind, mystically in balance of life and haste. And her soundness asleep from mercy. The wonder immensity, delivering me Before the sun begins. © 2015 Perdition |
