Stones

Stones

A Poem by Perdition

Did you find it?

Steal tranquility
From every stone
Every scream

Was there a moment
In transition

A rich spark of clarity

Perhaps you sat painless on a moderate
Laughing
While you watched us all pace

Is your bitter amusement
Finally
Out

Did wings replenish your eyes
The ones now burned into ash
The ones that seized us all in youthful rapture
What happened...

 GODDAMN IT!

Even now
Five years
I can smell the ward
I reminisce
Throw everything I have
Through the pain and glass just to wake you
Stir the salvation of why you even came

Is it softer now
Do the days pass as lovers
Innocently
The nights
Your loftier womb

I guess I have nothing left
But I miss you
I hurt
Relentless

A black blossoming hole
In everything I know

The sting of nostalgia never really stops aching for those generous with their heart, does it? This is a powerfully worded piece, strong imagery and extraordinary in it's carefully placed expressions for the many phases and shades of love lost. "A black blossoming hole in everything I know" is a f*****g fantastic, genius, way to have expressed the 'right down to the soul' ache of loss. You capture, so cunningly, the many tones of human nature and experience in so few words that it baffles and inspires me both!

also, wanted you to know that I LOVED this: "Is it softer now
Do the days pass as lovers
Innocently
The nights
Your loftier womb" ---Beautiful, Perdition.

There are those certain ones that though away, are never really gone. At least, this is what this one spoke to me about.

I remember a season in my life that I thought could never end, and when it did, I was speechless...dumbfounded for days and weeks and months afterward.

This is what I felt from this piece...a certain sense of wtf!
