A life worth trying

A life worth trying

A Poem by Perdition

"A life worth trying"

This day
I hold in fragile
Watch it twirl and sing
A bird of illusion
Trying
On the absent wing

This hour
It dares of me
Plays at my feet
An adorable chance
I play the music to its
Carnival mockery

This life
I walk
In shaded reason
Bound
A faith and strength perched
In summer constellation

This heart
The heaviest of bottle
Broken
Slipped
On bare thin, icy stage

This end

A sun in rising
Left to wilt
Where the stem has snapped away

Buried in coppice
A seed of child and chortle
Remain
