Curiosity

Curiosity

A Poem by Perdition
"

A challenge this morning involving three words..two constant and one abstract..Mine were Curiosity Clown and Knife…enjoy~

"
She lays cold
In perfect assumption
Even my shadow
Wants to clown in her sleep

The weight of both bed and bottle stripped
A lonely night
A foolish wish
This slip and knowledge
Potential
Sails and streams

I met her when she was seventeen
Funny how some girls
Jump the skip to thirty
A Christian knife
To hold inside my throat
But no… never like that
Though I would be lying if every thought
  Didn't struggle in priestly curiosity

Like I said
Only wishes

Now she lies closer
Sleeps and
Curls in a cone made bed
A world within her smile

I hold the bottle to her skin
She mumbles
Something about mourning
Carving my name into sin
I whisper

Reach for
My shadow
And with her kiss
All is done.

This piece was written so beautifully. You were telling a story & I saw everything you portrayed. Very well done.

If you wouldn't mind, could you please check out my novel, HIM? I'd truly appreciate it! (:
