The hope of darkness

How can something so dark,
Be yet so bright,
For in the darkness,
We reflect on the mirror of ourselves,
And from the reflection we better know ourself,
Who we are,
Though forever foggy is better known,
To become a bright beacon,
In the darkness of the unknown
