What to do/ Send someone

What to do/ Send someone

A Poem by Percy Pound

Four walls
I built
To stand the tests of time

Four walls, all rooks
Stand to protect their king.

But four walls
To proud and overbearing
Suffocated the false prince, me.

I've prayed,
Because i'm weak

I've lived,
A life were i'm meek

I smile,
To paint you a pretty picture.

Not to say i'm handsome and strong,
But to make sure you don't know whats going on.
Because why would you need to worry about me?
I'm the guy whose going places that sometimes I hope to never see.
I'm the role model, the saint, all the pretty colors,
Not black and grey,
Because frankly, that'd be a bit too cliche.

I'm optimistic, the go getting kid,
Who's smart and funny,
And loneliness knows no end.

So, I sit here,
On my obsidian throne.
With a cherry smile on my face,
but oh! am I ever alone.
Not, "Pity I want to play",
But, "I really need someone to stay"

So I do what others do and take my anger out,
An axe to a tree, but please take pity and let me be.
That's not me, I don't get angry.
Just sorrowful and alone is all I'll ever be.

But I'll continue to pray,
for someone to save me.
For this cherry king,
Is most like a princess,
locked away from the rest,
Of humanity.
