"Story in Progress"A Story by PeeeterPlease help D: Durzo Blintz slammed down his third round of ale, banged the empty goblet against the round wooden table and continued conversing with Azoth. His breath smelt strong, much like his personality. Durzo was well-built man with short rose blonde hair, strong in both body and mind. To all the citizens of Ghordon, Durzo came to be known as the hero of courage and bravery. He inspired the minds of many young men and children who have heard of his hardships and battles through stories, often exaggerated by the townsfolk. But to Azoth, Durzo was just an easy going man who could handle his drink well unlike women, and a loyal best friend. Durzo was one rank above Azoth in the King’s Order, the royal family’s personal guardians. Although both are still best friends from their soldier years, Azoth served under his friend without difficulty. “We’ve finally caught one and oh she’s a quick one that’s for sure. If you’re not careful, she’ll slip out of your hands…” Durzo continued, drinking in-between sentences. As Azoth listened he could not stop thinking about being with his late father fishing near outside the busy city of Kirkwall. “Look my boy, you got one! Reel it in, quickly now” father shouted with excitement. Azoth remembered how reeling was hard for him, with arms feeble and hands small. As line drew closer to his feet Azoth reached and grabbed it but couldn’t distinguish what fish he held due to light mist that fogged the docks early morning. Azoth turned around with fish in hand to show his father, only to find him flat against the ground bleeding, with a stranger clad in black garb wielding in one hand a dagger dripping blood and the other a sack of coin belonging to Azoth’s father, smiling. Bloody assassins. With fists clenched, Azoth sculled down his drink and ordered another from the barkeep. The inn had its usual patrons drinking that night....... © 2011 PeeeterAuthor's Note
