This is What I DoA Poem by Mr. Deft DictionThis is a draft of a joint I'm working on.CHORUS: This is what I am/this is what I do/ I can only be who I am/that's how I stay true/ don't ever let 'em tell you that you can't do you/ they've never stood in your path/or walked a mile in your shoes
I grew up hard-headed/no snot-nose/just hard-headed/ but to my credit/ my head ain't ever been up-ended/ I'ma principled man/I mind mine and expect the same/ I don't do hand-outs 'cause I've learned to not expect a thing/ but then again/I expect to be heard with this song that I sing/ I'm in it for the love/I never had any 'bling'/ I'm a trooper for the movement/an Ace in a field full of Kings/ and I'm careful with my tongue/I know that it stings....
CHORUS: This is what I am/this is what I do/ I can only be who I am/that's how I stay true/ don't ever let 'em tell you that you can't do you/ they've never stood in your path/or walked a mile in ya shoes
v.2 You can call me Peoples/or riot-starter/nah, just Peoples/ nothing new is original/so this ain't a sequel/ I just do what I do 'cause I'm fluid/ them other cats screw with it/then label it music/ beef takes two and I ain't never been foolish/ so telling me to stop spittin'/ is like telling you to hold your breath until your face is blue-ish/ just grab a seat or keep standing/peep the way the words manuever/ I make it look so easy/a cave man would think he could do it/ but sad for the competition 'cause this is Peoples, stupid (hahahaha!!!!)
