Your the only one he sees

Your the only one he sees

It's kind of mushy and skips around a bit, because I was working on it during my free time in Business Tech, break and lunch for a few days....

"

Kara Snowside was not your average girl. She was a hopeless romantic, an award winning chef, and author. The best part? She hadn't even finished high school. She was proud of her accomplishments. Winning a few of Food Networks challenges, and winning a Nobel Prize with her book Out of the fire and into the Snowstorm. She had accomplished everything she had wanted in life so far.

Kara didn't want many things in life, and few were really important to her. So, one day, when she announced to everyone but her best friend that she had a crush, which was usually the top priority , her friends were suprised.

Her best friend was Josh Moore who wanted similar things in life. He wanted to make it large in the orchestra business. Already, orchestra's across the world were offering him a chance to play with them, and he was ranked among the highest players of almost every instrument in the orchestra. Right now, he was going for a top spot in French Horn.

Josh was not the unattractive guy either. He was often described by girls as sweet, cute, and funny. He had his faults, like he could be a snobbish jerk sometimes, and he could turn his nose up at you, but when you got down to the core of him he was an amazing person. Everyday he got more and more phone numbers, some girls gave it to him hundreds of times.

He was the most wanted guy in school. Girls were hanging off his arm and dropping left and right from his ever twisting biceps.

Kara had liked Josh for a while before telling her friends, just to be sure it wasnt a false alarm, but by the time she told them, she was hopelessly in love. She thought it was a lost cause though, why would someone as beautiful as him want someone with as much flaws as her?

What Kara didn't know, was that she was the most wanted girl in the school. Boys were drooling every where. Some of them fainted too. From the science geeks to the hot jocks, every single, and some taken, guy liked her.

When Kara confided in her friends one day about this fear when she was planning of approaching him, they just laughed and wouldn't say a thing. Days, Later though, they cracked.

"Kara, hun, first of all, your the most wanted girl in school." Her friend Crissy said.

"Second of all, though, hun, have you seen how he looks at you anyways?" Her gay friend Jake said.

"What do you mean, guys?" She asked innocently. They burst out laughing.

"Every time he sees you in the halls he stares at you. Heaven help us he doesn't even look at the girls and guys clinging to his arms." Jake said.

"You know he once told me that he didn't want to flirt with them because he had a special someone in mind." Crissy said. "It was that day at the beach he faked the sunburn. He was looking at you when he said it, and that was most definitely a blush."

After Jake and Crissy left Kara's house though, they devised a plan of getting the two lovebirds together. The prom was close and it was masquerade this year. Luckily, they were in charge of it, so they arranged a whole quiz for every Junior and Senior [and freshman or sophomore who were lucky to go.] It was also lucky that this years theme was masquerade.

As it neared the prom everyone bought beautiful dresses and neat suits, and were anxious to see who their prom date was. They were dsappointed when all they got was a number on their ticket. When the prom quizzes were handed in, they meant to set aside Kara and Josh's, but never got the chance...

The night of the Prom Kara show up in a beautiful Baby Blue dress, it was her and Josh's favorite color, of course, and Josh a baby blue suit, for the same reason. As they didn't notice each other, they went into the door one behind the other, and as the teacher told Kara to wait until her date showed up in the holding area, she suddenly called out "Wait!"

The teacher was bewildered. "Your date actually came in behind you." She said with a knowing smile. As both the teens eyes widened exceptionally, the teacher murmered a number of words under her breath.

They both took a look at their ticket numbers Kara in suprise and Josh in questioning. The ticket numbers were both number one, and weirdly they both had on baby blue. But, nevertheless, they grabbed each others arm and went into the gym.

Both eyes scanned the crowd for familiar faces, and settled on Jake and Crissy's faces. Jake with his date, and Crissy with hers, they of course were not wearing masks since they were on the prom committee. As they approached, Josh and Crissy waved them over.

"Hey." Crissy said winking at them.

"Hi." Josh and Kara said both at the same time. They looked at each other questionally, and Kara had a spark of recognition. It was Josh.

Of course, she thought, he wouldn't recognize me. He pays too much attention to those arm hangers of his.

She smiled politely at him, "If you'll excuse me, I am parched. I'll go get myself a drink."

Crissy hurried after Kara to the bathroom. Someone spiked the punch every dance, so it was tradition to sneak into the bathroom for a quick drink. She took her sprite out of her bag and gulped it down furiously. Sprite always made her feel better.

She glared at Crissy. "You did this didn't you?" She asked angrily.

"Weellll," Crissy began, "I was going to, but Jake did it for me."

"So this was planned? Between you and Jake?" Kara questioned.

     "Yes."

     "Why?"

"Because you were being mopey, and we don't like mopey you. Plus, we really think you and Josh belong together."

"Well Josh and I think you and Jake belong together. Before you go there, he's bi. Trust me, I know."

"Welll, Er, Let's Dance missy!" A flustered Crissy drug Kara back into the gym and handed her off to a smirking Josh. He whisked he out on the dance floor, for a slow song.

As they danced, he leaned into her ear and whispered, "Hey, Kara." He drew back smiling softly.

"Hey Josh." She whispered back softly. She stared into his eyes smiling lovingly.

"You know, I was kind of hoping it would be you." He said. Josh lead Kara out of the gym, and into the soccer feild that had magically been turned into an outside dance floor. They were the only ones out there, though.

Before Kara said anything, though he said, "Kara, you know, Jake and Crissy would be estactic at what I'm about to do..."

As quickly as he finished the sentence, Josh dove down and crashed his lips to Kara's. For minutes thew swam in the happy feelings of content, love, passion, and more. "I've wanted to do that for a while..."

"I love you Josh." She said truthfully.

"I love you too, Kara." He smiled happily.

Kara glanced to the left and smirked. "Look." She said pointing towards the form of Jake leading Cassie out. Jake walked to the middle of what looked like the football field and gestured out to Cassie.

Cassie shyly took his hand and the two started dancing slowly. Jake leaned down to tell Cassie something. But, Cassie turned her head, and they were caught in a soul searing kiss.

Hi, My name is Kara. Kara Snowside. I am twenty-five now, and I am a teacher at my alma mater. I am happily married to Josh Moore and I am now due in five months to deliver his child. I live in an apartment building across from my friends Jake and Crissy...their getting married in twelve days. My life has turned out happily.

I can't say Josh and I couldn't have confessed without Crissy and Jake's help, well because they never did. The next day, when me and Josh approached them to say thanks for messing with the tickets, it turns out that they had accidentally not touched them. James Powell and Cara Smith were the accidental papers that they had switched. [They now have five kids together, though] Josh and I were actually matched 100%.
