A Chapter by Ink

James stood silently watching his wife put their twins inside their beds.

"I told you that lullaby will work" Amelia slowly stepped back from the cribs not wanting to disturb her two babies.
"La vie en rose, who would have thunk" James smiled at his wife's uniqueness. Amelia Wright is a woman of discipline and emphaty, she is a paradox that functions astoundingly in chaos and peace. A beacon for wandering minds.

"How about you tell me how you're day went?" Amelia smiled, her coffee eyes glinting. "Same old" James replied "how about we get to bed, while my phone is not crazzy buzzing" James offerred
"On call again" Amelia nodded "If the twins wake up you put them to sleep" She laughed when she sees him frown, but swooned when he sang the first part of the song gently as they walked towards their own bedroom.

"Hey I was thinking, maybe you should visit your mom tomorrow" James started cautiously
"Why?" An air of nonchalance was Amelia's response
"We used to visit her every week" James explained
"Before we had the twins" Amelia explained back
"Yeah ok you're right, the twins are a handful" James kissed his wife in her forehead, he was about to engulf her in a hug when she pushed him lightly
"Is she ok?"

"She's...fine, she just came by to-for the charity, I saw her and had a chat and just, missed her maybe a little" James never broke eye contact, thank god for dim lights and Amelia's farsigthedness that his squinting was not seen much. The words of his mother-in-law rang in his ear, her words branded in his thoughts.

"It's just" Amelia started but failed to continue her sentence.
"Hey, it's fine I didn't mean anything about it really" he remembered that like Grace, Amelia is wise and would see through his excuses
"James"
"Yeah?"
"Did she mentioned anything?" Amelia now sounded worried
"W-what should she mention?" James had to break his own word about not lying to Amelia, well is it lying? Maybe just changing the subject.
"Nothing it's fine" Amelia finally hugged him and they lay on their beds with bemusement.
