My Psalm

I think this poem speaks for itself.

God Is Not Dead!)

Many famous men have stated that God is dead

In many wrong books have they read?

 

They would have us believe the force of gravity gave us the planets and earth

To believe a lie that God’s own hand didn’t give it birth

 

Darwin said that man evolved over time in order to survive

I choose to disagree, and that God made everything alive

 

The devil would have you believe that life is only about us

To grab for the riches and fame and wander in life’s lust

 

I choose to say that God is living and all is well

Choosing not to listen and follow blindly to hell

 

Many people look at life through the colored looking glass

Never stopping to ponder what happen when life ends at last

 

I have known the storm seas and hurricane of sin

Only to find nothing but emptiness when it came to an end

 

God gave life and also a choice

With two roads where one leads to remorse

 

For those who choose to follow Christ and live the good fight

At the end in heaven we will find His light

 

Yes I will claim that I am praying man

I make the choice men to take a holy stand

 

God lives daily and directs my life

He helps me to bear its pain and strife

 

He gave me a good helpmate to enrich my life

Blessing from God who I call my wife

He chose to die for us on a cross-made from a tree

By him shedding his blood we become free

 

So please Lord let me love others and send down your heavenly rains

Let your spirit run through me like a wildfire in my veins

 

Living for him is like being in heaven on earth

By choosing his path he gives us a second birth

 

I believe that hell is a real place

That someday some will look upon Satan’s face

 

Maybe hell is even more of a constant torture to your mind

You feel the eternal separation of God’s Love

 

The thing that is so wonderful is he does give us the choice of grace

You can stop a running away from him and this maddening race

 

Yes God created in single moment the universe and man

And single living creature upon the sea and land

 

So my friends I hope that you choose God and follow me on this ride

Because in heaven one day we will rejoice on the other side

 

So in the court of life the final verdict will be read

 

That Evidence will truly point to this fact,

 

That God is Not Dead!

Sweetie God is not dead and never will be! The great "I am" isn't even
napping, he is, was, and always be alive and well! All glory belongs to Christ Jesus!

I really enjoyed your poem. As I was reading, I thought "Amen." The rhymes and half-rhymes work well in this. :) One stanza did catch my attention, though: "Yes I will claim that I am praying man/I make the choice men to take a holy stand". I re-read this several times and stumbled over the words. Other than that, great writing!
