When will we Understand

This poem is about how one can easily get caught up in the material things but reminds us that life can be so much more!

When will we Understand?

When will understand that it is not all about us?

 

 All the things we tried to posses will one-day turn to rust

 

When will we understand that we must give those in need a helping hand?

 

It is time that we cared and took better care of our land

 

When will we understand that we need to love our fellow man?

 

Isn’t it time we stopped building houses on crumbling sand

 

When will we understand it is not about looking out for number one?

 

There is so much work left to be done

 

When will understand what is important is family and friends?

 

These are the things we can truly enjoy till our days come to an end

 

When will we understand that God put us here for a reason?

 

Looking at our field of time it really is a short season

 

When will we understand that life should not be a rapid chase?

 

That we we need to learn to live each day and slow down this race

 

When will we Understand?

 

Hopefully we will awake before time runs out in our hourglass of sand!
