This a very emotional driven poem about dreams sought but lost. Also that even though ones seems lost you keep searching.

Lost in the Woods

By K. Edwards

Sometimes I feel like I am lost in blinding dark wood

Feeling trapped inside looking in the bleakness for the good

I was waiting so long at the turnstile gate

Hoping I hadn’t missed my train and I was late

Deep inside you experience the crawling past and its pain

The thunder once more rolls in leaving you drenched in the rain

All the roads become forked and don’t know where to go

It the seems the harder you try you end up trudging through a deep snow

Why do I feel so tired in this crazy race?

My mind is reeling as I drift further into space

You feel like you’re on a carousel out of control

Part of you is missing losing sight on any goal

I bear a iron blinding clanking chain

Something calls me but still haunts my brain

It frightens when you step on the ledge and see the street below

Tossing about a crashing ocean wave you feel each blow

Inside the numbness makes you halt, less to feel

Am I living in a fantasy or is this real

You take one step at a time and just carry on

The mirror image of yourself reveals you fading and almost gone

I sense the emotional glass smashing on the floor

Standing in the blistering cold at a solid locked door

When exactly did the symphony cease and die?

I have become good at wearing my mask where no one can see me cry

Voices in your ears tell you what you should do

Sometimes it just creates more confusion and you don’t know what is true

So I guess for now I will continue to walk and be lost in the woods

I will keep searching in the black velvet to find the good.

Wow what deep depression I sense, Thought for a minute as a jumper ready to end his pain and suffering. Life is sometimes just lost and forgotten in our busy schedules and society mandates. Very well written and described about how one gets lost in the abyss of his mind.
