![]() The truth hurts, but it's the lies that killA Poem by Penny ThoughtThe truth hurts, but it's the lies that kill. And he's killing me softly like Roberta Flack and Lauryn Hill. My heart keeps breaking, but I can't escape him. Now I'm wondering how to let go, how to move on. But how can I when I held on for so long? I keep saying I'm done, and I'm walking out that door. But then you speak and make me want you more. Again, I'm under your spell. Then again, I'm feeling like hell. Then back to heaven when you say that phrase. Now I'm confused and a little dazed. Not confused about my feelings for you. But confused if yours are really true. The truth hurts, but it's the lies that kill. Like when you tell me you love me and you always will. As they say, actions speak louder than words. So I waiting to see the things I've heard. Waiting to feel like you mean what you say. Waiting for my justification to stay. I'm going back and forth and up and down. Going crazy, getting the run-around. © 2011 Penny ThoughtFeatured Review
