That Girl

That Girl

A Poem by Penny Thought

I’ll never be the one to turn heads.

Never be the one to bring men to their knees.

Never be the one to stop them in their tracks.

Or make them beg “Please!”

I’ll never hear “Who’s that lady?” as I walk pass.

Never hear the oohs and aahs when I enter a room.

Never hear the sweet nothings whispered

That make other women swoon.

I’m not that girl. The pretty girl.

The one that every man adores.

But that didn't matter to me

As long as I was yours.
