The persuit of endless nights and dreams
I sit and I stare through time and space
I once again enjoy her face
This memory like an old friend seems
I saw her once in foreign lands
But time it sliped right through my hands
I believe now in "Love at first sight"
That still wont help me sleep at night
She follows me now from town to town
And wears upon her face the most solemn and melancholy of frowns
Down rail-road tracks and gravel roads
I bear her still the heaviest of loads
A friend once said to seek her now
I would if I wanted to
I do know how
He asked me why I talk of her so
I answered him "I do not know"
Spanish moss and heat it brings her back
Her caring voice her golden hair
I see her and I long for what could never have been
