self

self

A Poem by Penn Writeswell

What is perceived of me

Is often not what it appears to be

I am in and of myself a fallacy

In my spare time I battle me

To try to beat the bad out

To try to be without this sad doubt

So I can be alive and well

So I can strive against this constant hell

Because I fell

And I’m still picking myself up…

This is a great poem about recovery of self. Is often not what it appears to be - this phrase touched me as I read it. Can't always judge a book by the cover.

Small; simple; yet really nice.
I can easily associate my feelings with the ones expressed over here...
Great poem.
