A Poem by Nobody

you seem off, what’s the matter?
i’m fine
it’s okay, you can tell me
no really, it’s fine

i thank you for kindness, but politely decline

misplaced in your blindness you think it’s just sadness

yet that is but one less thing to confess down an infinite line

of dimensions inside my jerry rigged mind

three orthogonal lines with addition of time
can not plot the vines meandering wild
from sub-plots of Flatland to the winding guesswork

of string theory primes

and neither can i

hard as i try

you just want to help and that’s fine

but the event horizon of the rabbit hole

that you ask to step inside

connives with the parts of my brain that do not align

with reason, with lies, coercion nor bribes

sadness. i only wish it was just that

then i could share. it would make sense

but, stealing the words of the fake Black Bart

you haven’t the mettle for my brand of madness

and neither do i

but i try
