A Valentine RhymeA Poem by KevinWhen money's tight the best gifts are from the heart. I did buy some small stuff but this was meant to be the main course.
A Valentine Rhyme
I always forget until it’s way too late.
My money spent before I see the date.
I take you for granted and for that I am shamed.
You deserve so much more than my juvenile games.
You’ve nursed me through ills and pain.
You’ve cheered me on when everything seemed in vain.
My day’s not complete without hearing your voice.
When I see your face I want to rejoice.
You’re the mother of our beautiful son.
You’re the genius wife of this dull simpleton.
You’re all that I’m not and so very much more.
Your forgiveness of my many sins I do implore.
I cannot survive without the feeling of your kiss.
I cannot exist without that simple bliss.
We’ve weathered so much and came out ahead.
Without your love I’d rather be dead.
I am so proud to call you my wife.
I am so proud of our odd little life.
I am so proud of your skills and your mind.
I am so proud of your grace so gentle and refined.
Fifteen years ago you stole my heart.
With one simple dance our love did start.
Life’s not perfect we argue and fight.
Still our love sees us through no matter the slight.
My words may seem simple but my feelings are true.
Knows my wife, friend, and lover . . .
I LOVE YOU.
