Always on her phone

Always on her phone

A Poem by Pennywriter

Always on her phone…

What a beauty that one!

Long brown hair…

I walk up to her,

Look at her

Straights in the eyes:

“Hi! I’m…”

A phone rings.

She’s got eyes,

Blue enough

To make you dream,

A hell of a body

And an angel’s smile.

Her friends

Are observing me.

She’s still on the phone.

I wait,

Quietly,

My back against the wall.

Is she married to her phone

Or what?

There’s deafening music

In the night club.

                                                     I wonder:

Does she hear herself talk?

I wait.

I wait patiently.

And we’re only in 2002…

Ha ha! I laugh, but it's not really funny. People today just can't seem to live without their electronic gadgets. Human kind has survived for quite a long time, but perhaps not much longer. My wife is one of the worst--always on the phone or with her head buried in a tablet, notebook, etc.

Something tells me it's going to be a long wait.
Some girls need a major operation to get parted from their phone.
I suggest phoning her, but even then she'll be on the line to someone else.
