Once upon an airport

Once upon a time, a boy got lost in an airport, much to the panic of his brother and father, who had both missed the flight, searching for the lost child. In the meantime, the boy was quite amused. He was all alone, in some dark room full of suitcases.

The boy, named Sikandar, was calm, contrary to what you would imagine, were you in his situation. He loved darkness and could live in its dreamy cloak. Sikandar smiled and waited peacefully, almost hiding on purpose. The boy was so quiet and silent that no passerby could have heard him. In fact, playing hide-and-seek in the airport, while his father and sibling were desperately searching for him, was most enjoyable for our Sikandar.

Blinding blueish and white lights, illuminating the room, appeared in the form of a portal, a glittering door. Was it really a portal? Sikandar, determined not to be found, attempted to go through the fascinating door.

The boy was intrigued. And fascinated as he had ever never been before. He was in what seemed to be a spaceship! With large see-through panels along the circular frontal cockpit. Sikandar counted three transparent panels in this area.

A man appeared behind the boy, who was observing planet Earth at the distance. The spaceship was drifting pleasantly in the darkness and loneliness of space. The boy was stunned by the faraway beauty of Planet Earth.

-“Beautiful, isn’t it?”

Said the man who now showed himself to the boy.

-“Yes sir. Very beautiful.” replied the enthusiastic boy, with a wide smile on his youthful face.

-“You can stay an hour if you want to. But after that, I shall have to send you back to your parents. They must be worried.” Said the man, who introduced himself as the Captain of the ship.

-“With pleasure sir!” replied the polite boy.

Sikandar quietly observed stars and planets. He even saw more than seven planets! Can you fathom that, Reader?

An hour had passed. The captain of the ship walked up to the boy.

-“Time to go back home, son.” Said the captain.

The obedient boy obliged and thanked the space ship captain before going through a portal, whitish and blue, as it had been before.

Sikandar appeared in the same room he had been hiding in before. Except that this time, it was completely lit by yellow neon lights. A man entered the room, chatting about lost luggage.

-“Let me check here.” Said the airport employee.

The boy was hiding behind a few piles of luggage. The employee tried pulling out a suitcase which was tricky to take out. He pulled another suitcase, located a bit lower, making a few suitcases fall to the ground. Thus, Sikandar’s position had been revealed.

-“Well, well…what have we found here?” humoured the employee.

The employee got the name of Sikandar’s parents and was quick to signal his find to a security guard, who was instructed to keep an eye on the boy till the relatives came.

When they found Sikandar, the father and his younger son were overjoyed, but also looked out of breath.
