L for London

L for London

A Poem by Pennywriter

L for London

Far away…

Part of my memories.

Oh! London,

City in my dreams…

Regent’s Park

Remains in my heart,

Like the dog’s bark,

Like a piece of art.

The Ferris wheel

Of Leicester Square

Still whirls

In my long hair.

The wind blows leaves

At my face. It says:

“Leave if you must,

But don’t you forget my taste!”

Fountains

Meet my eyes,

With tears…

“My” tears as it rains.

London

Calls me,

Every night,

Every dream:

The Kinks

Of oversea love

Clash with The Police

In Creeque Alley.

Did I lose you?

Like a fairy

Who flew

Out of the box?

Beautifully woven piece...a place of charm and invitation, intrigue and diversity. You not only described such an energy here but the reader can feel the yearning within the poem, excellent :)
