Christmas

Christmas

A Poem by PencilinMyHair
"

Slightly too-cheesy Christmas themed poem, but what the heck. Still worth a read!

"
And all through the night, restless children awaited
Staying awake for a glimpse of Santa’s secret flight
Sleepy eyes blink under covers, or sit at the window with breath abated
As their little hearts beat in anticipation of the magical sight

Two children make a dare to see who stays up the latest,
In other houses parents quietly creep leaving parcels here and there
While students debate which December folktale is greatest
Milk and cookies disappear, but who eats the carrots? Paper scissors rock, it’s only fair.

Adults now are soundly slumbering or having their last drink
when the clock sounds early morn and a breeze whispers in the air
Still is the night until all are asleep then something softly begins to clink
One last child succumbs to the sandman and then Santa Claus was everywhere.
