The Master ThinkerA Poem by Adam LightThe master thinker meekly walked down a trail on a muggy night. In the forest, and in the dark, creatures reveled at the sight. The moon shone down and reflected off glowing eyes below, and the creatures determined to give the master of thought a show. First, a lion, then a goat. A dog, a rat, a crow, a bear... A dozen more, upon the trail, All marching to a bass and snare! Shocked, the master thinker was, as he took two steps back. The pulsing rhythm of the drums threw his worry out of whack. Then, at ease, he stood erect, and knew just what to do; he found a place that he could march in between a hippo and a shrew. For the next few minutes, the creatures shared in their delight and the master thinker marched freely on into the night.
