The CaveA Poem by Adam LightIn a pitch-black cave, cold and in pain, I often recede deep into my brain.
Consciousness goes, and returns once again, and I find myself still right where I've been.
I try to stand up, but quickly I fall, for it's hard to balance with no light at all.
Where is the light? I ask, lying still, while the cave that I'm in eats away at my will.
The cold rocks of the cave start to consume all of my life and construct me a tomb.
In the tomb, I can think, but I can't become free, for I'm part of the cave, and it's part of me.
I grab a loose rock, and bang on the floor, and sparks fly through the air as I fall through a door.
