Quest

Quest

A Poem by Adam Light

World, I need a quest!
My life is way too smooth.
I need a hole to fill
or a pain to soothe.

I am only getting by,
and I am losing sight.
Tomorrow doesn't matter
because today is trite.

World, I'm all alone,
and my direction is unclear.
I'm hoping you will save me,
but you don't know I'm here.

Maybe you're like me,
with no real path to tread.
And I must be the one
to come save you instead.

Now that's a proposition;
a weighty one, indeed.
World, I'll come and save you.
You are the quest I need!
