The Truth

The Truth

A Poem by Pencalibur
"

The truth about... well... the truth

"

The truth…
I can’t handle it,
It hurts.
It wounds.
It makes my heart bleed and my eyes water.
It shreds my soul and devours my happiness.
Because if the truth means that I hurt you,
I don’t want to know it.
If the truth means arguing to follow,
Then go ahead and lie.
Because I can’t handle the truth.

I liked this! It was genuine and heartfelt and I felt like you conveyed your emotions really well. I could relate to your poem a lot, especially in the two lines:
'It makes my heart bleed and my eyes water.
It shreds my soul and devours my happiness.'
I actually liked the shortness of this, and felt like you were successfully able to portray such complex emotions into such a short poem. Well done,

Your poem made me think of people whom love to brag on how truthful they are and really they are just pretty mean.. truth is good .. but not always ..and it's good to ask if the person you plan on telling the truth to can handle it .I enjoy writing is expression and confession ..I like this one, I will tell the truth it could be better maybe a little longer? but still what you have there is nice.
