A fairy Tale story of a literal little boy and a very large tall tree girl and their adventure

Training Your GIANT
Lischa of neck-of-the-woods was a beautiful little girl who was a half tree folk and half GIANT. Her father was, of course, the giant.
Anything could set him off. They lived in an oversized cottage built for giants. Her father never brought anyone to the castle. So Lischa was quite surprised when the local news writer came over for a visit to see what giants were all about.
"Yep, there ya go. now do your thing and we'll be done here." "Yea bu.." What is it?"
"Well, you see sir, I'm all about proving to society that you're the same as everyone else.."
"Same?! Do you call this same?? 12 foot high steps..same?"
"Well, I..I feel like I'm one of you so I would just like to shed light on it all."
"What all?? All I see is a very little boy with too high of ambitions, now scram"
"Here, I'll show you out."
As I took the little boy out and down the stairs while he rode on my branches, I start to beg him not to give up.
"What are you, his only advocate?"
"Yes. I'm also his only child, and if you say a word my father will hunt you. Just kidding. Thought I'd get you there. Climb down my roots. There ya go. Run along now.
Little dis Lischa or her new friend know, the paper-boy left a note snagged in her roots and branches. To her, it feels like when we get popcorn kernels in our teeth. Somehow she managed to get it out and she secretly borrowed the magnifier and took a look.
.. Beautiful creatures they are, though I feel there's much more...
As she reads this, she then realizes he truly is different from the rest. Instead of being repulsed or terrified, he was amazed at this "small" family.
The next day, Lischa told her father she was going to go passed the harvest garden to pick some apples from some neighboring tree people. He sent her off and she went, hoping to get a glimpse of Tucker Fair-Heart, as she had read earlier of his name. She was about ready to grab an apple when another tree person suddenly grabs her by the wrist,
"Dear, Dear... You don't want those app-" "Get away from her!!" Says Fair-Heart "Her apples are poison!!"
Just then, the poison peddling witch disappears.
"I have to tell you something,"
He pulls her aside to a more quiet place. He takes a deep breath and lets it out.
"I ....used to be.... a giant but because of the witch's poisoning me, it cursed me and I was no longer able to trust giants nor them me, and I couldn't trust anyone.. Until I met you of course." "Ok, well what do we do now? I have to get home and I don't want to leave you here." "Let me hide in your basket!" "Ok perfect!"
Lischa walked with Tucker in her basket careful to not make him seasick. When they get to the castle, Lischa's father asks about the apples.
"No, none today, I listened to a woman playing some kind of stringed instrument instead, you just had to be there!"
"Ok, go get ready for bed."
"Yes father"
She turns up the stairs to her room all while remembering Tucker Fair-Heart in her basket.
"Ok, you've told me about the witch I saw.. so is there any way to fight her or a way to turn you back?"
"Yes, one. Her teacher, Mr. McKinney, but he's one of the good guys. She was too selfish for him to teach her anymore and he forbade her to ever cross the mountains."
"Let's leave by dawn."
While the grass was still frosted, the tree girl and her new friend cross the bridges and creeks, and many hills and mountains to get to the old man's library where he chooses to live. In every room journals, books, and notebooks with pages overflowing with notations of every kind.
"Mr. Mckinney- wake up! We need your help."
"Here, let me try, Mr. McKinney..." "Wooah.."
"It's ok, it's ok, we need your help with Tucker"
"Who??" "Tucker Fair-Heart..." "I don't see what you mean. I'm very tired"
Lischa points to the little boy in her basket. McKinney looks inside the basket and recognizes that he has been cursed because he had known the boy as a giant before.
McKinney had looked for a reversal to end the curse but found none. Carefully, he concocted something that was only tested once before but at that time, they were missing one quality element, an element that still to this day remains a secret.
"Ok, come quick to the maker's room, be sure to take off your shoes, but you're ok though Lischa," He says with a wink.
McKinney gives a mouse-sized bite of the food potion as well as the "grow liquid" and just as he swallowed it, he started to gradually grow and triple in size and before Lischa's eyes, he was as tall as her!
"OK, my son, you are now remade. I gave you the liquid so the witch wouldn't spell you back- Even She doesn't know that secret!"
"Thank you kindly, sir!"
"Don't thank me, thank The Maker! You two have fun now. Don't scare any witches
"So... Tell me how this whole thing started.."
"Ok, father, Tucker .. over here is a boy that was born a giant, but an old witch cursed him and.."
"Ok, pardon me forever being rude, now that you can, let's formally shake hands and welcome to the dinner table and into our lives!"
"I am pleased sir!"
"Wow, firm grip!"

Spell check doesn't find wrong words. Sometimes what you type on auto suggests or corrects and leaves the wrong word behind. I found that if I slowly read my writings aloud - the wrong words (and often any misspellings) would become apparent.

Some people WILL ding your story. Some will find it "cute". What matters most is how YOU feel and the effort you put into it.
