Six ~ Willard Obér YatesA Chapter by Aram AlexanderWilliam Butler Yeats"What The Sun Does Not See. It has been worshiped for thousands of years, been rendered as God of all things by civilization upon civilization. Even science thanks it for the life it sustains as billions of people bask in its' glow every day, relishing its' nourishing warmth. Yet the sun that shines in every sky would shed tears of flame upon this earth if only it knew what it has never seen. Never has it seen the stars shining like diamonds on a black velvet canvas, their radiance brilliant on a cloudless night. Never can it know the stillness that the AM brings, the tranquility of the world asleep. And never will it witness a thousand beautiful shades of dark blues and deepest blacks accented by slivers of brilliant starlight; the pallet that eternity is painted from. But worst of all, the sun may never explore the curves of your skin as you lay entwined with white bedsheets as if it were the Milky Way draped across the galaxy that I adore. The sun, however, remains blissfully unaware of all this, because night and day cannot exist as one. Or maybe I am too sentimental, and these are merely personifications of natural phenomenon. But even so, I will never understand how anybody could live without seeing such beauty in the world. For without it, what is there in this life to live for if not for the stars at night and the eternity I long to spend looking into your eyes? Perhaps I should ask the sun." ~ Willard Obér Yates
