Too Alike

Too Alike

A Poem by Aram Alexander
"

Oh college, what funny predicaments you provide us with.

"
Inevitable like gravity you're waiting 'till I fall,
And when I finally do and shatter, you won't care at all.
I've got no privacy like pissing in a glass bathroom stall,
And there's nowhere for me to run 'cause my back's against the wall.
Submit to you and your temptations, crawling through this hall of shame,
I see your smile as I wish for a while that it would feel the same again.
So I give up and give in and quit playing your game,
I think of how it ended wishing it wasn't me you blamed.
I just wanted to get close to you without getting spurned,
I just needed to feel your warmth without getting burned.
But we're too alike, two pieces of the same damn puzzle.
Yeah we're too alike, opposite ends of the same bleeding open wound.
We're just too alike, enemies on other sides of the struggle.
Yeah, we're so alike, the bright face and dark side of the moon,
If we don't find a solution soon we'll both be our own inevitable doom.

Aram Alexander
Not to be taken seriously; I was quite heavily inebriated at the time of this writing. Also, I was nineteen. 'Nuff said, yes?
