On 'The Beaver'A Chapter by Aram AlexanderA brief introspection triggered by a movie about a puppet. Yeah...I just watched 'The Beaver' and it really rings true that the mental illnesses that we develop are often as a reaction to trauma or hardship in our lives. It is strange to think that insanity can start as a relatively innocent coping mechanism before it eventually spirals out of our control. While the representation of this theme was more physical in 'The Beaver', it made me think: since our mental illnesses are manifestations of our own minds, when we rid ourselves of such, we must invariably also lose a part of ourselves in the process.
