Wasteland WarriorA Poem by PenFoxOnce upon a time, In a land called Unblime, There was an infamous outlaw, By the nickname of Jack Raw. Rumor was, he always ate raw meat,
And that he was impossible to defeat. That all changed one day, When a man, claiming to be Don Grey, Came around, Promising to put Jack Raw six feet underground. Laughing insanely, Then grinning most widely, He told the man, "Kill me if you can! For I am the most dangerous man, This land has ever known!" Mr. Grey laughed as if he'd already known. "We shall see," Don Grey said calmly. "Fine. We shall end this soon. We will showdown at high noon!" Said that angry outlaw. And off stomped Jack Raw. And Don Grey, He just smirked and strode away. What the townspeople didn't know, Is that Don Grey was a ranger from the town Kayjarrow, Home of the best rangers around, Well known for putting their enemies to the ground. And very soon, It became high noon. It was time for them to meet. Jack Raw had his hands rather full, with gun in one hand, and in the other, raw meat. He took a large bite out of the morsel- Boy was that a disturbing eyeful! All but Dong Grey, Were disturbed in every way. He just smiled and shed his Duster- And that caused quite the fluster! Now the outlaw knew what he was up against, And he thought that he should've sensed, The this man, for whom a fight he sought, Was more than he thought. On Grey's badge there was a golden arrow- The true sigh of a ranger of Kayjarrow. Just as the the Innkeeper reckoned, It was over in a second. The outlaw lay dead upon the ground, Grey opened up the cylinder of his revolver... He only loaded one round. Not taking his pay, Don Grey, walked away, leaving only the one .45 caliber shell, That fell from his gun, That still remained in his hand as he walked away with the high sun. THE END © 2014 PenFox |
