Black Silk

Black Silk

A Poem by PenFox

The clouds of doubt and despair,

Wrap around my heart like black silk.

I often wish it weren't so harsh,

So defeating,

To be enveloped in a shroud of sorrow,

To be blanketed by the dark folds,

Of the suffocating black silk.

One does often wish for suffice,

To pain and suffering,

But sometimes it never comes,

And the black silk is here to stay.

Sometimes,

I struggle and thrash,

So that I may escape,

My ebony captor;

But all efforts are in vain,

So I must remain,

Trapped,

In black silk,
