Slumber in the VoidA Poem by Pen Draggin'
I am all too painfully aware
at night when the alarm clock glows an angry red, blurred by my undeniable tears. And a hurt that rises up and can't be stifled, leaks out onto my pillowcase. In the day there are things like how funny names are and how the weather is that keep me from this. But when you lie here next to me the hurt is lost inside, spread out into every single blood cell. In the void between us there is so much that you should be saying and I still wait for it, painfully aware at night.
