Laying in Wait

Laying in Wait

A Poem by Pen Draggin'

 forever a satellite
bound by the gravitational pull
dizzying my head
breaking my heart
constantly orbiting
always at a distance but never far
pounding my ears
the echoing silence of the stars
pins of light
reason and life
the softest touch
sent a meteor across my skies
set it ablaze
everything illuminated with brilliance
charging my skin
blinding my eyes
suddenly it fell
not even the stars could be seen in its wake
stealing my soul
trailing down past the horizon leaving no reason
like a bandit
in the dark
sure to return
to luminously adorn my worn path once again

Love this my dear. The last four lines together are perfect. Gotta go to work but will talk later. Hope you're doing well.
