Rules of EngagementA Poem by Pen Draggin'You've declared war refusing to recede in peace. Infiltrating my world like the ghosts of soldiers on foreign shores. You've done your recon studied my face as if it were a topographic map. Wading up to the knees of fatigues to touch my body like memorizing the assembly and cleaning of an issued gun. Stealthy you edge your way to the heart of me following the bloodtrail of the wounded. Our eyes caught in firefight with my skin heated red alert. There is no stinging shrapnel in this free strike zone and I am raising my white flag a willing prisoner of war. © 2010 Pen Draggin'Reviews
