How to kiss her like kissing is an art

How to kiss her like kissing is an art

A Poem by Peggy Olson

There is no destination here.

You have arrived. Between lips
The little girl resides, between lips
Collide like things that float in outer space
Make her eye shut up the windows to souls

Her mouth is the door
To everything she owns
The vessel of everything she knows
Whispers and cries you could taste it all
The unsaid words you can take it all
Onto yours

That's the magic

Don't break it off...off
Don't break it off

And when you start again it'll be more
Magnificent.

There is no destination here.

You have arrived. Between her lips.
The hate and pain and love all reside
You can taste it all

I do like this as it makes one think about the power of the kiss. It is an interesting free verse that uses repitition as emphasis. I do however feel it did not live up to its title because it does not describe the spiritual closeness that two people share in a mutual and meaningful kiss. Rather it paints 'him' as the knight come to rescue the damsel.

Wow, Peggy! What a brilliant poem. So well written...and I especially love that kind of six lined second verse...

"Her mouth is the door
To everything she owns
The vessel of everything she knows
Whispers and cries you could taste it all
The unsaid words you can take it all
Onto yours"

That part is just amazing. Great stuff!
