Sleepless Nights

Moon Pictures, Images and Photos

~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Intrusive thoughts expand within a mind compelled
to chase Muse's nightly dreams
where sleep remains a wistful contemplation entranced
by reverberating ideas' magic wand.
Night is daylight's dark master
sending writers' block to its spiraling defeat.

Auden Tanka

The arrangement is not according to the number
Of syllables, but according to the number of words.
One stanza of six lines only
No strings
No rhyme or set measure.

This is enchanting! Very dreamy and well written..... "Night is daylight's dark master
sending writers' block to its spiraling defeat" I love this last line!

This is a lovely Tanka Sharon. The presentation, the words the music (ahhh " Sleepwalk", love it!) were all spot on.
Much enjoyed!

Thanks for submitting this to Sal's contest ~ Helena :)
