In the Eye of Life's Hurricane

In the Eye of Life's Hurricane

Tonight a star shines through the mist to light my winding path
where yesterday a wall of fog obscured its pebbled way.
How strange it seems to understand what seemed quite murky then,
but time's reflection often sends dark doubt and fear away.

Perhaps it takes unsettled thoughts to bring me to this place
where possibilities emerge amidst the questions asked,
and answers seem more possible than just the day before
when even walking down that path seemed quite a hurdled task.

I thank the star that lights my way for quieting my doubt
and bringing sensibility to overwhelming fright.
Tomorrow may bring obstacles I never could foresee;
but, for the moment, I shall breathe the peaceful calm of night.
