I have stood within her warmth,
felt her majesty,
and thanked our wondrous Sun
because---
She shone across the morning sky
to mark the break of dawn.
She warmed the breeze that drifted by
as afternoon moved on.
She danced among fall’s leaves turned dry,
cast shadows on the lawn;
as twilight came, she winked goodbye
and, all too soon, was gone.

I stood in awe of how he sparks
romantic hopes and dreams
and watched our lovely Moon
as---
He moved into the coming night
and smiled upon the Earth.
He offered such a gentle light
to soothe the darkness' dearth.
He calmed my fears and eased my fright
and took his rightful berth.
He came to tease me just for spite
and blessed me with his mirth.

I have wished to know
why the stars shine bright
in such a grand design
while---
They twinkled high above the land
and danced into my dreams.
They formed the constellations grand
and watched the comets stream.
They shone upon the beach's sand
and lent their special gleam
to eyes of lovers hand-in-hand---
Really beautiful. Wish I had written that one. My favorite part and I did have a hard time choosing.
She shone across the morning sky
to mark the break of dawn.
She warmed the breeze that drifted by
as afternoon moved on.
She danced among fall's leaves turned dry,
cast shadows on the lawn;
as twilight came, she winked goodbye
and, all too soon, was gone.
Just read you won the contest and with such style. The perfect rhythm and meter drawing on its gentle cadence to carry the reader along, gliding from sweet expressions to masterful thoughts. Well done, a true masterpiece.

Sharon my friend, your artistic ingenuity is shining through in his so sweet and gentle write...praising the virtues of nature for the magic they lend to human emotion. Indeed, the same God who created the sun, moon and stars also created us. And He's the one with the plan for humankind. Simply a beautiful and powerful write.
